Mario is a Senior Fellow at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale, a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute, and a partner at a leading international law firm.
Previously, Mario served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Combating Terrorism, Under Secretary for Industry and Security, a member of the Global Markets Board of the National Intelligence Council, and a forward deployed military officer in combat. During his time as a Presidential appointee, Mario was immersed in many of the headline national security and foreign policy challenges you’ve heard (and not heard) about.
He lives outside of Washington, D.C. with his family.
